The NCHA FOUNDATION supports the National Cutting Horse Association through youth programs and scholarships, equine welfare projects, historical preservation efforts, and continued education of the sport of cutting.

Our mission is to support the National Cutting Horse Association through the following areas of focus:

  • A cowboy in a white shirt and cowboy hat riding a bucking bronco in an indoor arena with cattle in the background and signs reading 'Fort Worth', 'NYCHA World Finals', and 'Crockett, TX'.

    Youth Programs & Scholarships

The NCHA Foundation is proud to provide scholarship opportunities to NYCHA members pursuing their goals of higher education! These opportunities are available to youth members both in and out of the arena throughout the year. In addition, the Foundation oversees each NYCHA member’s individual scholarship account and distributes scholarship payouts directly to the students educational institution of choice. Students have until their twenty-fifth birthday to utilize scholarship funds in their account.

  • A collection of cowboy and rodeo memorabilia, including books, a photograph, a ticket, a metal belt buckle, and a large sign that says 'Proud Member of NCHA,' all on a patterned rug.

    History & Preservation

The NCHA Foundation is responsible for the acceptance, preservation, documentation, and other activities relating to the curatorship of NCHA’s historic memorabilia. The Foundation is currently working towards making such memorabilia available to the public for educational charitable purposes.

  • Continued Education of the Sport of Cutting

It is the mission of the Development / Continued Education of the sport Committee to coordinate and assist with educational programs and presentations promoting the cutting horse and the sport of cutting. Such programs include Foundation fundraising events, judging and cutting clinics, and promotional activities at equine events.

    Equine Welfare

The Equine Welfare Committee is responsible for supporting the projects that fund and promote the welfare of cutting horses. This includes projects that can improve the length and quality of life of cutting horses and programs which aid in disaster relief efforts for the equine community.
